Jay R. Halleck, Esq.

Senior Associate

Jay R. Halleck is a highly experienced family law attorney practicing in Maryland, known for his dedication to helping families navigate the challenges of divorce, child custody, and division of assets. Both at Hearns Law Group and throughout his career, Jay has built a strong reputation for handling complex family law cases.

Jay's years of experience give him a deep understanding of the law, and his strong communication skills allow him to provide clients with a clear understanding of their case, and the best way forward. Jay is an experienced and tenacious litigator, and you can count on him to deftly and zealously advocate on your behalf. However, Jay realizes that not all cases need to end up in the courtroom, and he strives to help clients identify when it may be in their best interest to come to an agreement.

Jay completed his undergraduate degree at Williams College in Massachusetts, graduating in 2005. After three years living and working in New York City, Jay studied law at George Washington University Law School, receiving his J.D. in 2011. Jay has practiced law in Maryland since 2012. He lives with his wife and three children in Washington, DC, where he spends his free time restoring old cars and building Star Wars Lego sets with his kids.

Jay's practice covers all aspects of family law (including child custody disputes, child and spousal support, and property division), as well as landlord-tenant matters and contract disputes. He has successfully represented numerous clients in high-conflict cases, always working to provide effective solutions that meet his clients' needs. You can be confident Jay that will handle even the most complex cases with skill and care.
